Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our accounting team in Banff, Alberta. Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible reviewing all invoices prior to payment for accuracy, proper approval, satisfactory pricing and proper coding, while following company purchasing guidelines.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Handles Company disbursements and payments of invoices and cheque requests, expense reports, refunds and commissions
  • Reviews all supplier statements
  • Processes Credit applications
  • Provides backup for weekly cheque run when required
  • Ensures month and year-end cut offs are maintained
  • Performs month-end duties
  • Reconciles assigned accounts at month-end
  • Reconciles the Accounts Payable Sub-Ledger to the General Ledger
  • Communicates with Management regarding invoices, statements and accruals
  • Ensures all Managers are aware of changes in policy or any updates
  • Assistance in providing information for Audit inquiries

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting
  • Accounting designation an asset
  • Great Plains experience an asset
