Responsibilities

  • Receive, store and issue products/materials, equipment and other items (heavy lifting)
  • Count stock items, physically transfer retail inventory between all locations as requested
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouse or off-site
  • Effectively operate retail software for transferring and receiving retail products
  • Drive truck/van to pick up and redistribute product between the center and staff camp
  • Maintain retail storerooms and walk-ins
  • Assist the Inventory Supervisors in keeping the back of house areas organized
  • Cooperate with front and back of house doing inventory
  • Follow all Parks Canada environmental by-laws, code of conduct, core values, policies and procedures, safety regulations, guidelines on Safe Receiving
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects reporting any damage

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
  • Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract record issued by the Province of Alberta
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for their actions 
  • Organized and able to follow a systematic method 
  • Ability to identify and keep proper stock levels on shelves 
  • Effective communicator
  • High attention to the details of the job
  • Ability to get products to the destination safely following all safe regulations
  • Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Meet the organization's grooming and appearance standards
  • To honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check
  • Standard First-Aid or higher an asset

Work Environment

  • Contract dates; April 5th to October 21st, 2018
  • Typically 5 days on/2 days off
  • 6 days on/1 day off during peak periods
  • Split shifts as per schedule
  • Days off may change with each schedule and depend on business level
  • Long weekends may incur schedule changes
  • Chef jacket and pants will be issued
  • Expect 35 – 44 hours per week depending on business levels
  • Eligible for end of season performance and retention bonus
