Responsibilities

Tour Guide / Captains demonstrate a positive attitude and good communication skills to ensure that a high level of customer service is given to each guest. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide animated, interactive and personalize interpretation of the local history, wildlife, vegetation and geology related to Maligne Lake and Jasper National Park that exceeds our guest’s expectations
  • Operate tour boats with the safety of all passengers as the primary focus, in accordance with Transport Canada regulations Master Limited <60 ton
  • Assist as needed to ensure all visitors to Maligne Lake Cruise have the very best possible guest experience
  • Maintain trip and mechanical logs
  • Sustain a safe and clean environment in all areas controlled by Maligne Lake Cruise

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • High attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Public speaking skills
  • 21 years of age and a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident to be certified by Transport Canada
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Marine First Aid required (course will be scheduled during training)
  • Class 4 driver’s license an asset
  • To honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check

Work Environment

  • Contract May 18th to October 8th, 2018
  • Retention & performance bonus: up to $1.00 per hour worked
